Our client was driving to work one Monday morning, just as he had every day for 20 years, however this trip was anything but routine.  As he was traveling north on a divided highway, he was struck in the driver's door by a full size van.  The van was traveling east and had crossed the two southbound lanes of traffic but apparently didn't see our client in his new, blue car heading north and she hit him.  The driver of the van was talking on her cell phone at the time and simply not paying attention. Both vehicles careened off the road after the impact. 

Our client was riding with friends in a small motorized side-by-side vehicle. The client fell off the vehicle and sustained a closed head injury. As a result, our client continues to deal with the effects of a head injury and must consider different employment opportunities.

While driving northbound on Highway 21 near Glenwood, Minn., our client's vehicle was struck broadside by a driver who failed to yield struck our client's vehicle broadside. She was airlifted to the Twin Cities with severe injuries to her left arm and lacerations to her head. Advanced trauma services were required to repair the skin torn from the left forearm.

Our clients' 27 year-old son was riding as a passenger in a friend's car. He was killed when the driver lost control of the car and went off the road. The victim was a single young man who lived with his parents at the time of the accident. He left behind no wife or children dependant on his income. However, Attorney Paul Schweiger argued that the victim's next-of-kin were entitled to compensatory damages for "loss of relationship"--a claim that is historically very difficult to receive compensation for.

A semi truck driver from North Carolina pulled his rig to the side of a two lane highway on a bright summer afternoon. He stopped to make a cell phone call, activating the flashers on his semi. The motorcyclist approached the truck and suddenly the truck pulled out and across the road to make a U-turn. The motorcyclist had no time to react and hit the side of the semi. The motorcyclist was killed immediately.

Our client was a passenger in a pickup truck that was hit by a Peterbilt truck at an intersection. The truck had come to a rolling stop for the stop sign and was traveling 5-10 mph into the intersection. The pickup our client was riding in was speeding and the driver did not have time to react to avoid the collision and ran directly into the side of the semi truck. Rescue personnel used the "jaws of life" to remove the roof of the truck to access our client. He was taken by helicopter to North Memorial Hospital due to his serious injuries. He suffered head injuries, femur fracture, collarbone fracture, multiple rib fractures that punctured his lung, foot and toe fractures, a bruised liver and a laceration to his leg that required staples.

The pick-up our client was driving drifted off the shoulder and rolled over. She was seriously injured when the roof collapsed and is now a quadriplegic. GM settled the case rather than argue crashworthiness in a rollover accident. William Bongard obtained a settlement in the amount of $700,000.

Our client was delivering newspapers along his paper route. While standing outside his truck taking papers from the bed, he was struck by a vehicle driven off the road by an intoxicated minor.

A 26-year-old Minneapolis mother was on her way to work early one morning when a distracted driver crossed the center line and caused a horrible head-on collision.  The impact was so severe it immediately fractured her ankle, among other injuries.  Several ankle surgeries later, she is trying to get back to a normal life.
