Our client was a cement truck driver and was injured at work when he fell between a truck and a platform. He suffered injuries to his spine and hips that required surgery. He continues to live with pain from his injuries.

Our client's son was a 19-year-old man who was arrested for DWI. After he was booked, given an alcohol breath test at the county jail and placed in his holding cell, he was left alone and unobserved for nearly two hours.

Our client was driving home from work when he was hit by large truck that merged into his lane crushing his vehicle between the truck and the cement median.  He sustained shoulder injuries that required surgery and resulted in lost time from work. Our client faces permanent ongoing pain and restrictions, and will likely need another surgery in the future.

Paul Downes represented a man who had a longstanding degenerative hip condition so his doctor recommended a hip replacement. Our client had his first hip replacement on the left side done in May 2001. He continued to experience extreme pain through the hip and groin area. For the first few months, he thought he was just slowly healing but the pain continued for at least 1.5 years. His doctor continued to tell him that he would have to live with the ongoing pain.

Our client was following a school bus and a tractor on a straight, level highway. Our client was passing the school bus and overtaking the tractor when the driver of the tractor suddenly slowed and make a left turn and hit her.

Our client was riding his Harley Davidson west on Highway 12. He saw the defendant stopped at the intersection and as he went by, she turned into him, striking him on the left side of his motorcycle. As a result of the collision, he crushed 3 bones in his left foot and fractured the ankle. He had two surgeries and has permanent injuries from the accident.

Our client was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a friend. The driver overcompensated while making a left turn on a gravel road and lost control, and smashed into a concrete sign. Our client sustained a displaced cervical fracture requiring surgical intervention. After months of recovery, our client was able to get back to full function. The case settled for the $100,000 liability limits and the $50,000 underinsured limits.

A Hastings teenager stopped to change a flat tire for a stranded motorist on the narrow median shoulder on Interstate 94 just east of the Mississippi River. Trying to avoid a traffic backup, the defendant pulled into the median area and hit the back of the stranded Ford Explorer. The defendant's car landed on our client. Numerous motorists stopped and pulled the defendant's car off our client. He died from his injuries a day later.

Our client was returning to the Twin Cities from a week-end in Northern Wisconsin. She was hit head on when another vehicle crossed the center line and came into her lane on a rural two lane highway.  Our client was not able to avoid the collision.  She received fractures to her back, sternum, knee and 2 breaks in her right leg.  Unfortunately, the driver who hit our client was killed. 

An Eden Prairie woman was the victim of a car accident as she was traveling through an intersection on a green light. She was struck by an oncoming vehicle that made a left turn in front of her on a yellow light. Then she was pushed into a third vehicle in the intersection. Two gentlemen at the scene helped our client out of her vehicle as it was leaking gas. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance and treated for fractured wrist, bruising and soreness. Our client’s nine year old son was a passenger in the vehicle and was also taken to the hospital, treated and released.
