A man riding a motorcycle was struck without warning by a 15-passenger van when the van driver ran a red light.  The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital but did not survive his injuries. 

Cory Whalen filed suit against the van owner and the driver.  During the course of litigation, Whalen discovered multiple unethical acts by the van company to ignore their drivers’ poor driving records.  The van driver of this particular accident had a ticket for previously running a red light and it was boldly ignored.

The lawsuit resulted in a settlement of $525,000 to the heirs and next-of-kin.
