Grandfather killed after being rear-ended by semi-truck
Our client was traveling on Interstate 94 near the Lowry tunnel in Minneapolis when another vehicle pulled out into his lane of travel, causing traffic to slow abruptly. Our client was struck from behind by a semi-truck and killed instantly. He was survived by his wife, two sons and two grandchildren. He had been the primary daycare provider for his grandchildren since his retirement, was an Anoka County Fair board member for over 20 years, a member of the Stockman's Association and actively involved in 4H and many other civil organizations and groups. He was well known and respected in the community and more than 600 people paid tribute to him.
William Bongard pursued claims on behalf of the family against three insurance companies and reached a settlement through mediation in just over a year following the accident. Mr. Bongard also assisted the family in setting up annuities for the grandchildren.
