Distracted Driving
Distracted driving is a growing problem in Duluth and elsewhere. Studies have shown that distracted driving contributes to about one out of every nine accidents in Minnesota. Common distractions for drivers include:
- Texting and driving
- Eating
- Adjusting the radio or GPS
- Talking on the phone
These distractions make it harder for drivers to notice motorcyclists, especially given their smaller size. Distracted drivers often can’t react in time to avoid a collision with a motorcycle.
