Jennifer's Story – "Accessible, Professional and Cared About My Well-being"
I was on a team-building retreat for my employer in July of 2014. While participating in a hike during the retreat, I was injured and hurt my ankle. After some time and physical therapy, it became clear that my ankle was not healing correctly, and my doctor recommended surgery. While the insurance company paid for my initial physical therapy, they denied my request to pay for the surgery and subsequent medical expenses. When the insurance company denied the bills, they were sent to me to pay out of pocket. As the bills mounted, I had to get help; I called Danielle Bird.
First, Danielle expedited the payment of bills that had previously been approved by the insurance company. They were slow to pay, and I would have become overwhelmed with bills had Danielle not stepped in to fast-track the process. She was professional and firm, and kept me up to date with all correspondence and communication with the insurance company. She didn’t let anything fall through the cracks. If an expectation was set with the insurance company, she made sure they followed through and respected the time frame. Danielle was always in communication, and would call me back right away, even on lunch breaks or during the evening hours. She spent hours talking me through everything, and I never felt rushed. I felt as if I were her only client.
After the initial approved medical care was paid for, Danielle started to fight for payment of the recommended surgery and post-surgery care. She worked tirelessly for over six months, and finally the insurance company agreed to pay for everything. My initial physical therapy, out-of-pocket costs, required surgery, and required post-surgery medical care was paid for, with interest.
I was surprised and relieved with this outcome. Throughout the process, Danielle was very honest about the potential results. I respected her honesty, and was grateful that she worked so hard to give me such a comprehensive and positive conclusion to this ordeal.
Danielle used all of her resources in order to give me such a great experience. If she didn’t have the answer to a question, or needed more information, she went to her colleagues for assistance. It was this gesture that made me trust her. I knew she would do everything in her power and use every resource available to help me.
I absolutely would recommend Danielle to anyone looking for help with workers’ compensation. She was always accessible, personable, professional and truly cared about me as a person. She cared about my well-being, and even talked with me about personal issues not related to the case. It was very easy to work with her, and her knowledge and determination gave me the best outcome possible for my case.
