Clint's Story – "Jim listened to me"
A simple errand for my employer on my lunch break turned into a horrific accident. I was riding my motorcycle and had slowed down for a set of railroad tracks when the vehicle traveling behind me wasn't paying attention and suddenly and without warning rear-ended me. The motorcycle and I ended up underneath the vehicle and were pushed forward quite some distance. As a result of the accident, I suffered a sub-dural hematoma, two skull fractures, a broken collar bone, two broken ribs, a broken tailbone, two broken toes, and 3 broken bones in my foot. My accident happened on a Tuesday at 2:00 in the afternoon and Jim Carey was at the hospital that night talking with my wife. I was still in a coma.
When the accident happened, we had only been living here in Minneapolis 5 years and we had never worked with an attorney. My wife asked the owner of my company for the name of a good attorney and they mentioned a few different ones but said that Jim Carey was the best personal injury attorney they had heard of in Minneapolis. I certainly wanted the best and I believe I got it. Jim successfully settled my claims against both the at fault driver's insurer as well as my underinsured motorist policy for the policy limits.
Jim came to our house and was honest and truthful with us. He looked me in the eye when he talked to me and listened to what I had to say. He took his time in answering my questions. I was pretty scared and overwhelmed but he put me at ease. He was very professional but he didn't talk down to me. I appreciated his honesty not only with what to expect but with what not to expect. I was comfortable right away that Jim was going to do whatever he could for me. I never even spoke to other lawyers. He made it clear that he was out to protect me and get me a fair settlement. We just didn't want to go into bankruptcy for the injuries which weren't our fault.
Jim put us in touch with Mike Scully in his office right away to handle my workers' compensation claim. This part of my claim was complicated and we had quite a fight on our hands with that. Mike was great and right on par with Jim. He worked hard and was honest. He didn't try to fill me full of false expectations and then let me down in the end. When I had questions, he was very forthcoming with his answers. Mike did a great job and got more for me than I expected.
I was the main bread winner in my family with two small children and a horrific accident on my hands. My wife was understandably scared as well. The speed and swiftness with which my case was completed made me feel at ease as much as anything else. I expected it to draw out for a couple of years but with the help of SiebenCarey, it was easy for me to decide to settle the case and be done with it. We had no regrets. I would recommend SiebenCarey to anybody who needed an attorney. That is the first firm that would come out of my mouth.
