Motorcycle Accidents On The Rise
Last year, Minnesota’s population totaled 5,457,173, an increase of over 35,000 people from 2013. As the population increases, so do the number of motor vehicle accidents, injuries and fatalities every year. Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable on our Minnesota roads, with 24 fatalities already this season—including four deaths in four days—a colossal jump from previous years, over a 50% increase from this time last year. SiebenCarey handles motorcycle accidents on a regular basis but never as constantly as in recent years. Cory Whalen has handled seven motorcycle cases in the last year alone and continues to receive additional calls from injured motorcyclists… or from the family of the deceased motorcyclist.
Watch for motorcycles when you drive. Allow a motorcycle extra room if you’re following the driver. If you are the driver of a motorcycle, be constantly vigilant and wear a helmet. Your life might depend on it.
Be safe, Minnesota.
