Michael Scully Recognized as Lawyer Of The Year
SiebenCarey, serving injured Minnesotans for more than 60 years, announced today that Michael F. Scully has been recognized as a Lawyer of the Year in The Best Lawyers in America 2016. Scully was selected by his peers in Minnesota for his work in the practice area of Workers’ Compensation Law - Claimants.
Scully joined the firm in 1996 and now serves as a partner at SiebenCarey. He has developed a strong reputation as an advocate for the rights of injured workers. Scully frequently speaks to labor unions on the rights of injured workers. He actively lobbies to protect and enhance the workers’ compensation benefits and rights of injured workers at the legislature. He is a member of the Minnesota Association for Justice Board of Governors and a past recipient of the YMCA Distinguished Leaders Award. Scully has achieved success in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, and auto accident insurance litigation.
“Mike’s contributions to his clients and to the firm make him a perfect choice as Lawyer of the Year,” said SiebenCarey managing partner Jim Carey. “His role in supporting changes to Minnesota Worker’s Compensation laws and in representing and educating labor union members about their rights when injured on the job is vital.”
Scully received his Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University and graduated from Hamline University School of Law in 1996 following a 15-year career with government, nonprofit and education organizations. He was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar in 1997, the Federal District Court in 2004, and is qualified as a mediator by the Minnesota Supreme Court. He and his family reside in Hastings, Minn.
Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. The annual Best Lawyers ranking is based on a peer-review survey in which more than 50,000 leading attorneys cast nearly five million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas.
